Roger and I got up early and headed to the Mezquita by 8:30 am.
The gates open at 8:30 and it is free to explore until 9:30 when they make everyone leave except those that are attending mass. You do need to have your shoulders covered or they will not let you enter for mass. After mass is over it costs to enter.
The garden area is always free.
These are the floors from the early church before the Moors made it a temple.
Both of these panels have 8 point stars in them but the designs are a little different.
We are really glad we came and saw this church because it is so different from anything that we have seen before. It really was special.
These are just some sights from our walk back to the hotel.
This is the lobby/breakfast room wall. The lodging was fine but I do not suggest that you have the 4 Euro each breakfast. We thought it was included but it wasn't and all it consists of is toast, instant coffee or hot chocolate and maybe some juice. You can get better for your money almost anywhere.
The windows of our bathroom and lounge area of our room from the courtyard stairs.
Well we packed up and headed to Sevilla. Along the highway were fields of sunflowers.
Bullboards
A solar plant
We were very excited to visit Costco in Sevilla. It was nice to park the van in the underground parking lot so it was much cooler to get into once our shopping was done.
Costco size elevator
We don't have these kinds of ham at our local Costco
We took pictures of the pathways we took so that if we got lost we could maybe find our way back to the hotel,
The old town is just a bunch of little walkways that go every which way.
We came out in the big square with the cathedral.
This bird was loving its shower.
We took a lovely guided carriage ride around town,
and through the park.
We even got to see some Gypsies on the way to get married.
So sad that our ride came to an end.
We found an outside art exhibition.
There were some really nice photographs. While there we met some young law school students that were doing an international law study abroad program and they told us about a restaurant to go try.
So the search begins. Well we finally find it, but guess what? They don't open until 8:30 pm.
So we decide to walk around the corner and get some refreshments while we wait.
Then we head back to the restaurant at about 8:45 only to find that they are packed. So we decide to go and find somewhere else to eat.
So we found another little outdoor cafe.
Elaine got some fish but not sure what exactly the blue stuff is.
