This is our last day in Paris and what better way to spend it than to take a macaron class. Before we left home I had made reservations for Elaine and I to take a Macaron class at Le Foodist. First they divided us into 3 groups of two & 1 single.
We then were each given a filling to make. We made a lemon curd filling. The others made a vanilla cream, chocolate ganache & a savory filling
We then made the Italian Macaron. Which is a very different recipe and way of making them compared to the French macaron.
You actually pour a boiling sugar syrup into your fluffy egg whites.
And then beat them until cool.
You also make a past of your powdered sugar, almond flour, egg whites and optional food coloring.
She then showed us how easy it is to pipe them out......easy for her.
Not so easy for the rest of us.
Once they were baked, cooled and filled.
It was time for tea and story time.
We then got to fill our boxes with the leftovers. Yum, Yum!!
