This morning or neighbors across the street were out in their short shorts setting up for the Fireman's Ball that starts at 9:00pm tonight and goes until 4:00am.
On our walk this morning we saw these guys working on a building. Roger is grateful that that is not his job.
We finally reached the Arc de Triomphe which had the French flag flying because tomorrow is Bastille Day.
From there we walked to the Eiffel Tower which was a madhouse because so much was blocked off for the fireworks.
We had picked up some sandwiches so we could have a picnic in the park. What a great view. We could see the people climbing up and down the stairs. I can't even imagine doing that. The lines to go up were atrocious. If you are coming to Paris and want to go up to any of the levels of the tower buy your tickets ahead of time!!!!
We've gone up before so we were good just sitting in the park.
As we left the park and were heading to the Musée de l'Armée we saw Elaine and Fred walking behind us. I waved but they didn't see me so Roger and I kept our banks to them until they passed us the Roger grabbed Fred's shoulder which stalked him a little bit. They were taking a lunch break from their hop-on hop-off bus tour. We told them where we were going and then we played ways.
We went through the World War I & World War I I exhibit.
The propeller from the Wright brothers plane.
I wouldn't mind getting to ride in this about now.
I can't imagine carrying this around on the battlefield but I wouldn't mind having it on a camping trip.

Replicated battlefield

Church in a box.

Can you imagine having a cell phone like this?

I think this is from one of the Star Wars movies. OK, I know it is not, but they must have sole the idea for the space ship
This is inside the Dome
Napoleon's tomb
On our way to another exhibit. They had more uniforms, swords & guns than I cared to look at and actually we missed even more exhibits of armor and heavy artillery. I am not sure if they had those things blocked off or not. They had areas we could not go because something was going on.
The Fireman's Ball across the street seemed to have a good crowd. Glad that it wasn't quite as loud as the party in Porto and at least it was finished at 4:00 am.
