July 27, 2015 - FloraHolland Flower Auction

Today Roger and I got up early and headed to the FloraHolland flower auction.  We caught local bus #172 in front of Central Station to Aalsmeer.  We realized later that we could have caught it on the main street by the church that is by the Anne Frank house since that would have been a little closer.  It cost 5 euros each, since it takes you to a different city.  It took about an hour to get there.  It cost 6 euros each to get in.

There are a couple of rooms that have people in there that are bidding on the flowers. I think more people are bidding on them online.

Not sure if it was bring your daughter to work day.

It was amazing to see all of the  hustle and bustle of getting these flowers  sold and sorted.  From the time the flowers are sold to the time they are loaded delivered to the purchaser is 90 minutes.
We had some fun before leaving with the photo props.

The bus drops you off and picks up right in front of the building.
On the rainy bus ride back into town we passed by an 1928 Summer Olympic Stadium.
We had visitors this afternoon between the rains.
