Roger and I walked down to Moods so he could get a coffee and so I got a hot chocolate. I love the way the spoons hook onto the side of the insulated clear cups.
After some breakfast we headed out to explore Amsterdam.
Then we headed toward Dam Square.
You could do some serious people watching in the square.
I found my size jar of Nutella. Actually the smalled jars behind me are 5 kilos and were 49,50 Euro.
We walked through the flower market. I had not idea that this is what an artichoke looked like if you let it flower. I think I like them more as flowers.
Roger doing his Asian pose with good ol St. Nick.
We went to the Pancake Bakery for lunch on the recommendation from a local.
Roger got the Canadian pancake.
Elaine & I got the summer special. Strawberries, vanilla ice-cream, Belgium chocolate shavings on a pancake. Just in case you were wondering both were very yummy. I was surprised at how much I liked the savory crepe.
We had some visitors this evening at the houseboat so of course we had to throw them some bread crumbs.
Roger and I went for an evening stroll and what goes better with a stroll than ice-cream. The night before we had walked by and there was a very long line. Tonight we must have timed it just right because there were only a few people ahead of us but they were lining up before we left. I can tell this will be a place we will be visiting a few more times.
This is the church that is right by Ann Frank's house. It is also the landmark to know where we are in regards to getting home.
The door to the Ann Frank house is where the white square plaque is on the black front. Where you would go in is to the right where the glass front is. All I can say is if you do not want to waste a lot of time and you really want to go in you better buy tickets online ahead of time. The lines have been super long everyday.
Not sure why this bathtub is sitting out but I think they may be having a community trash pick-up.
The blurry guy in the blue shirt is towing the bright orange bike. I am not sure why since it looked like the guy was pedaling inside also. I just thought that it was a very interesting bike.
