July 1, 2015 - Sevilla - La Brunilda - Feel the City

We decided to go on a "Free" walking tour with Feel The City Tours this morning.  They came by and picked us up from our hotel and then we walked and followed them to a few more hotels to pick up more people.

Then they split the groups up by the language they spoke.  English speakers were divided in half and then we were off to see the city.
 Our guide was Adrian.

We could see these two people in the government building talking and behind them you could see the camera flashes going, so of course that meant that I had to get a picture of them.  I do not know who they are.

Well we decided to cut our tour short because we knew the restaurant that we had tried to go to last night was opening for lunch at 1:00 pm and we wanted to be there when it opened.  We did purchase tickets for a Flamenco show for this evening at 8:00 pm before we departed the group.  Even getting there a little early we were not the first people in line to get in.  By the time the doors did open those of us that were waiting filled half the restaurant.
La Brunilda is a must if you go to Sevilla!
The food was excellent.  Fred and I ended up ordering the same beef dish.
Roger and Elaine ordered a pork dish that was out of this world good.
 Dessert
If we were at home the plate would have been picked up and licked clean.
So Roger gives it two thumbs up.
We then headed to the Cathedral of St. Mary.

It took three generations to carve the alter piece.  It is the story of Mary and Jesus from left to right, bottom to top. Jesus birth is represented in the bottom middle piece.  His Crucifixion is at the top.

I walked to the top of the bell tower thinking that Roger was already up there only to find him not there.  So I took my pictures from the different sides and then headed back down.

Only to find him at the bottom so I then walked back up with him.  The tower is a little easier to climb because it is not steps but a ramp all the way up but it is 34 flights up before you have to climb one flight of stairs.  So let's just say I got my workout in for the day.

We then headed over to the General Archive of the Indies.

All the papers are supposed to be in here in regards to the discoveries of the Indies which include Christopher Columbus finding what was really America.
It is a good thing that this was a free museum because most of the displays were empty.

I wonder if this is Spains version of Senior Frogs.
                                                They have such cute restaurants.

So at 7:15 we headed to where we were supposed to meet the Feel the City guide for the Flamenco show.

The area looked a little different without the crowd of people in the square.  At 8:00 they then walked us right past our hotel and a little further.  I wish they would have just told us to meet them at that location, since it was a lot closer to our hotel.  We went in and there was a person who talked to us about the history of Flamenco and they gave us a glass of local Sherry.  This talk was a little long and it was also very warm.  Once the talk was over they then walked us back in the direction we came to see the actual show.

Now the nice thing was that we did have reserved seats and were in the second row.
The bad thing was that there was only two dance for the show.

The guy who played the guitar was very good.  We did not care for the singer very much, but some people really loved him.

I personally would not recommend this tour.
