July 7th Today Is All About Strudel

So this is the day we have been waiting for.  The Strudel Shop is open today.  So we headed out on our strudel journey going a different way today, so we saw some interesting sites along the way.

Yes those are babies crawling up the tower.

You definitely need to watch out for the potholes in the sidewalk.

Yay, we made it.  We ordered 2 apple, 2 curd strudel & 1 poppy seed strudel.

He told us it would be a few minutes.

They were still warm and smelled delicious.

Now we needed to hurry and get back so we could eat them.

After a detour through the most amazing and somewhat scary cemetery.

After  our two hour journey to get strudel we were back in the apartment and ready to eat.

Now I will say the apple strudel was better than any of the apple strudel we had in Prague but I think it was unanimous that the curd strudel was the best and that the poppy seed was not on our list to ever try again.

The rest of the day was used to wash clothes, pack and rest.  We cleaned out the refrigerator for dinner. So we had fried potatoes, carrots, spaghetti, salami, cheese, bread & grapes.

We enjoyed our last dinner in Prague. It is amazing how fast our time here has gone.

Then about 10:30 Roger & I went out to get some night shots of the castle,

Charles Bridge,

the place the kids always meet at the horse,

and the museum.

Prague is a beautiful place and I do hope we will come back someday.  It is now almost 1:00am and we  have to be on a train headed to Vienna tomorrow morning and then an overnight train to Florence where a new adventure awaits us.

  1. Glad you finally had your strudel! You worked hard for it! Now that you are headed for Italy, we hope some of those food words you learned at our dinner will help you out!
