Pam and I were on our own you could say, while the guys kept taking pictures of the Dancing Building. So some other nice gentlemen helped us to get safely across the street. Which you have to understand how crazy and scary this intersection was. There was road construction going on which was causing cars to block the intersection but the other drivers didn't care they were going around and in front of cars leaving them stuck in the middle of the intersection.
The guys didn't care though they were willing to risk life and limb to get pictures at different angles. I thought Roger might have a heart attack when all of a sudden some cars brakes locked up and heard a loud screech. We all turned to look at him thinking he was going to be under some car.
Pam began to wonder where I was taking her.
She felt much better when she could see Mike again.
And they were happy to see us too.
But she was even happier when they were reunited.
We saw the monument to Victims of Communism Who Survived.
Roger wanted me to go put my hands on these ugly snakes, but since I couldn't Pam did. I am so glad I didn't because all of a sudden the water spurted out of their mouths. Lets just say if I had had my hands on them it would not have just been water hitting the ground. I HATE SNAKES!
We could have taken the funicular to the Petrin Tower but we decided to climb to the top.
We took a "shortcut" up a steep hill.
The good thing about walking up the hill was taking in all the beautiful views of Prague.
And seeing sites you never imagined.
And getting our legs in shape for the cruise.
This time though there weren't quite as many laughs because we did this hike on purpose. We also weren't as worried if there was a defibrillator along the way.
We were rewarded by finding the secret garden.
There was an older couple that was tending this beautiful place.
I only wish I could have a garden like this at home.
This is the garden that Roger wishes he had at home.
The roses were beautiful and in full bloom and
so was the love.
What we actually went up to the top was to go up in the Petrin Tower but we decided the views were already great and that we didn't need pay to climb more stairs.
Pam & I got to take a fun break and play on the swing.
Mike & Roger got the pleasure of pushing us.
We had a nice walk along the back of the castle wall.
Our super leader.
While Pam & I had stopped to take pictures the guys had tried to play a little trick on us and hide from but they were the ones that got startled because we had seen them hiding so we hid behind a tree and while they were waiting for us a guy came out the door beside them, which they weren't expecting.
Now let me warn you that when you travel in Europe you need to have coins with you for those times that you need to use the Water Closet because free ones are few and far between so if you do find a free one use it whether you need it or not.
We had stopped at this little eatery because we had seen they had warm strudel with ice-cream. To walk into the non-smoking are we had to walk over this hole.
While we were waiting for our strudel we looked over the map to try to figure out where we were and where we wanted to go. This was a really cute little cave like place. Which did have a free restroom. If only I had known we would come across this place it would have saved us 50 cents.
A picture of our strudel, ice-cream and whipped cream. This just made us that more excited to get the strudel from the Strudel Man.
We wandered down all kinds of little streets.
Until we ended up at the castle complex.
We walked around but decided we would save going on the tour for another day. But we did go inside the St. Vitus Cathedral. The stained glass windows were beautiful.
We also enjoyed the views from up here also.
From up here we could see a bizarre wall that we wanted to go and see.
So we decided to head down to check it out closer.
What we found was another lovely garden area.
The Wallenstein Palace.
A closer look at the wall.
We love the views from the bridges too.
We came across groups of people playing something like the Amazing Race but it was larger groups of people. They were having to paint a picture to get a clue. Of course Mike and Roger had to get a closer look.
We found our way back to the Old Town Square which is where the band had been playing and the food vendors were on Saturday.
While there we looked for the Astronomical Clock on the Town Hall.
It is hard to believe all the beautiful sites we saw today.
