Welcome to Thiouville
We were very fortunate to be welcomed so warmly by the Anquetil family. They have restored their home beautifully. We were in awe of the character of the house, I could live in their attic. These pictures don't do it justice. But more importantly were the wonderful memories of sharing family time with them. They made sure we had a taste of Normandy with food and drink. We tried and enjoyed foie gras on toasted baguette which was our aperitif with Loupiac, which is a sweet white wine, this was Mike, Pam & I's choice, Roger had the Port, with dinner we had red wine. They start dinner with a melon that is like cantaloupe and usually is served with some port in it which we will have to try when we get home. At the end of the meal Lisa served us a lot of different cheeses that are from the area along with some Calvados, which is an apple brandy made in Normandy, which is good for the digestion because it burns a hole through your stomach. Pam was even cheerier than normal when we went to bed that night.

How fun to spend time with this family. I LOVE the tree on her wall in her kitchen! The traditional food sounds great. Beautiful pictures!
