June 15th Rouen

Today we were able to finally sleep in which was nice.  We drove to Yvetot and then caught the train to Roen.

We visited the site were Joan of Ark was burned at the stake.  They have built a church there that the roof looks like an overturned boat.  The original church was destroyed during the war but they reused the glass for this church.

We saw the Big Clock circa 1528 while Mike talked to a couple he heard speak English.

We then visited the Notre-Dame Cathedral.  It was amazing.  I have to say I had a spiritual moment.  I am sorry that they don't believe that they can pray to God themselves but I had to take a moment to thank him while I was there.  I think this Notre-Dame Cathedral is much better than the one in Paris but that may be because we had this one almost to ourselves.

We walked down to the Seine River and then up to the St. Maclou Church which is another Gothic style church.

We then headed back to the train station to go back to Yvetot.

We decided to see what we could find to eat for dinner and after walking for what seemed like forever we found a little pizza place.  The best part was they had a Nutella pizza, I thought I died and went to heaven.  This time it was me licking the box.
