June 14th Mont St. Michele

This morning we needed to get an early start so we went to the Pastierre Saneurs d'Autrefois and got a variety of fresh baked croissants that included apple, almonds, chocolate & raisins.

We had a three hour drive to reach Mont St. Michel.  We crossed over the Normandy bridge again on our way.  We had crossed this bridge the day before also.  They charge 5,10 Euros to cross it each way.

Getting everything we needed out of the van before heading up.

We headed up to the Abby through the little shop area that had lots of food booths, trinket shops and hotels.

We had to climb lots of stairs, luckily no one needed one of these (AED) although it was touch and go towards the top.

The views were beautiful from the top balconies.
The views from inside were amazing also.  It is hard to believe that they had the vision to build this on an island over 1000 years ago.

We listened to them sing in the chapel and even though we could not understand a word of it it sounded beautiful.

Roger & Pam faced and conquered their fear of heights when they had to walk down the scaffolding to get out of the Abby.

We finished off our visit with a stop into a sandwich shop where we got a sandwich, drink and a dessert which was a Nutella crepe that was so good Roger licked the plate.

It was a wonderful day and I would highly recommend everyone put this on their bucket list.
