June 10th
We got up this morning and went down to the breakfast area and had an English breakfast of eggs, sausage (not like ours at home) and beans (like pork and beans). They also had some delightful chocolate filled croissants.
We then headed out for the day. We visited the Tower of London and saw the different crowns that were worn by the British Royalty. They had people out in medieval clothing swordfighting and acting out daily activities: We walked across the Tower Bridge in the rain then went inside and walked across it on the top which gave us great views of the 61 gun salute for someone’s birthday. Then we walked to St. Pauls Cathedral where I climbed all 528 stairs to the very top. Mike, Pam and Roger climbed 376 stairs to the middle. Roger couldn’t go any further up because the winding staircases had holes in the steps and it was a long way down. We jumped on the underground qnd headed to Westminster and came out next to Big Ben. A local man wasn’t to happy with Pam who got caught up in the moment and decided to stop and take a picture. We walked by the Abbey but it had closed earlier and we were now in a hurry to find where we were supposed to have dinner that was included in our ticket price to see Wicked. When we had left the hotel that morning we had thought we would be coming back before the show to change but I had told Pam you better grab the tickets just in case and we were glad we did as it would have been hard to make it to the hotel and back in time.
How was Wicked? Could you understand the words they were singing and saying?
ReplyDeleteWicked was great and yes you could understand everything. They did not speak with a British accent if that is what you meant.
