They were only able to do half of the river cruise due to all the rain and flooding that it caused. They had some wonderful views of villages and fields from the boat. Then they took a bus ride to the Burg Rheinstein Museum. The castle was built in the 13th century by the Archbishop of Mainz. An opera singer Hermann Hecher bought the castle n 1975 to keep it out of the Hare Krishna sect.
They were all so tired on their boat ride back that they fell asleep.
Then they took a "cable car" to the Germania Monument and the Niederwald Temple.
There was some wonderful views as they rode over the grape vineyard on their way to the top.

They ate at the Bum Grunen Kranz. They ate schnitzel but Amanda wasn't real happy that it was covered with mushrooms.
But was happy with ice-cream for dessert.
