June 18, 2013 Traveling to Germany

Looks like he is under arrest for charging his tablet
Boy 4 am came way to fast when we went to bed at 1.  We did the last minute stuff like making sure the refrigerator was all cleaned out, oops except the milk, well we may have cottage cheese when we get home.  Got the garbage all out of the house.  The mail and newspaper is on hold, boarding passes printed (of course I did that yesterday), electronics are charged.  Did the sweep of the house to make sure all the pets were out and then we were off to the airport.  The days are gone when you could arrive at the Fresno Airport and not have to wait in any lines.  We checked our bag at the kiosk so we didn't have to wait in the very long line.  The only problem was that Roger pressed the wrong button, or maybe the right one it depends on how you look at it, and now he is sitting in a totally different location.  We tried to change it back when we got to the gate but someone had already taken his exit row seat.  The security check was down to only one machine so that line took around 20 minutes to get through.  So we made it to the gate with just enough time to reorganize my bag so that I had just what I wanted to have with me on the plane in a different purse.
Once we boarded we found that we had to wait for passenger trying to get through security plus they needed to fix something on the plane.  It was a good thing for a lot of passengers that they had to make that repair because some people didn't board until a half hour after we should have departed.  We had a family of four young children with the oldest maybe going into the 2nd grade sitting right behind us.  I am glad we are not on their next flight which is from DFW to Madrid Spain.  The baby was crying the girls were kicking our seats, and they were not quiet about all that they were doing and going to do.  The Steward must be a comic on the side as he was cracking jokes about everything.  Once the flight took off though i was pretty uneventful.
We arrived at Dallas and took the tram over to the D terminal and had lunch at McDonald's.
We met up with Roger's Aunt and Uncle then we found out that they moved our gate so off to terminal A we went and now it is delayed 45 minutes.  We actually made up most of the time in the air.  I sat next to a young man who is a math teacher for 6th grade, who was traveling to Poland to see his fiance'.  He met her when he was traveling through Europe and then made several trips back to Poland to see her and when he was there during Spring break he proposed.  I loved the exit row seats except for the fact that I did not have a window.
