The driver pointed out the castle that has been used for Monty Python's Holy Grail, Game of Thrones and Outlander. I wish I could have gotten a better view of the castle as I am a huge fan of Outlander.
I think the Highland Cow is absolutely adorable.
The population of people in Scotland is approx 5,650,000 people 6.70 million. Our tour guide Jamie being the true Scot that he is said there were over 10 million sheep.
The bus got in a traffic back-up because two cars had gotten into an accident. The first word he got was that it would be about an hour before we would get moving and after the hour he heard it could be another hour. With that he said that we could get out of the bus and stretch our legs.
So we decided to get off and go for a little walk. Dave, Cheryl and I decided to turn around and head back to the bus since we had gone quite a ways and didn't want to get that far from the bus, Roger had kept going. Well when we saw the tow trucks with the demolished cars go past us, lets just say we put some pep in our steps and we got back to the bus just before it started to move.
This is a picture of Roger panicking to get back to the bus because he did not make it back before the bus started moving and because the traffic was coming from the other way he couldn't get back across the road to get back on the bus.
The next stop was at Lock Ness. Roger found Nessie.
The area that we stopped at had some picturesque areas but I really wish we would have stopped in a village instead of what amounted to a hotel, gift shop, cafe all in one. Normally they would have dropped some people off at a castle ruin and then they would have taken a half hour boat ride on the lock but because of the time we lost due to traffic they had to skip that. The people that wanted to do the hour boat trip were still able to do that.
I wasn't sure if I was going to get a picture of Cheryl and Dave checking out how cold the loch was or them falling into the loch. They said the water was cold.
They said that if you took all of the water in England it would not fill up Loch Ness.
Whatever language you speak, whatever you need to say, the lock will understand.
We did a quick drive through of Inverness.
As we came back into Edinburgh we got a view of the Forth Bridge completed in 1890.
On the other side they are building a new bridge.
As it was the latest we have ever been outside it was nice to see the city lit up.
It still wasn't dark at almost 10:00 pm.
