This morning as we were walking around trying to find someplace to get breakfast we saw this cute cement couch/bench.
A lift to get supplies up to the top apartment for their remodel.
We came across an antique market in the park that also had a breakfast vendor.
So we each got a crepe, I of course got mine with Nutella and Roger got his with schenkstroop. They had little tables set up in the park for us to sit and eat our crepes.
We walked through all the booths of antiques. They were all set up very nice I should have taken a picture but i was too busy looking at things I could not afford.
There was some type of marathon going on. So a lot of streets were baracaded which was nice because the cars and bikes were not allowed.
Helping the runners keep up the pace. I don't know if the antique dealers across the street appreciated the drums though.
We watched them run by while we waited to go into the Escher in Het Paleis. Right after I told Roger that there was no way I could run on the uneven surface that they were running on because I would fall, a woman bit it on the bricks. Roger and I moved so that she could sit on the bench we had been using and this guy starts talking to me in.....Dutch I think. I just looked at him and gave him a sympathy look for the woman.
The rooms all had these very fun and unique crystal chandaliers that I am sure were here when they Royal family lived here.
There were actual landscapes that he drew.
We had fun in the interactive center.
Roger had always been puzzled about which hand was really drawn but now he know that it was drawn correctly.
Wasn't sure if he could get out of the box.
You would really be tripping on these videos if you had visited a "coffee shop" first.
This was quite the illusion.
We walked again through the Thailad Festival to see if there was something there that we would not be afraid to try but that did not happen. I am a wimp when it comes to anything spicy so I was not sure what things were.
We were going to have lunch at Jamey Bennett so we ordered our drinks, Roger got a coffee and I a Mai Tai....Hey I am on vacation. The waitress never came back to take our food order so after I finished my drink we were finally able to get her attention and instead of ordering lunch we just left.
So as we were looking for someplace to get lunch we found a lovely park to walk through.
After no food and a very good Mai Tai I really enjoyed the park and all of the pretty flowers.
Roger wasn't too happy when the park didn't go through and we had to go back out the way we came in.
We ended up at another street market. These are fun because you get to mingle and talk to local people. That is a good thing about the Netherlands, most of the residents speak English as one of their many languages they speak. Their English you can understand much better than UK English.
We finally found someplace the we could both agree on eating. We both like Donars and these were stuffed with well seasoned meat. Just FYI this is 3 hours after we left the cafe that we couldn't order lunch at.
We stopped at the store by our hotel and picked up some things. Schenkstroop Karamel, some tiny tubs of ice-cream and some mouth wash. When the bottle says extra fresh mint it means EXTRA strong. Our mouths were on fire after we used it.
