12/29/12 Time to Sail

Everyone has safely arrived in Miami by this morning.  I must say I had slept much better than I expected to last night.  Not so lucky were Bob & Julie.  We met up with them downstairs in the common area of the hotel and they told us of their horror story of the night.  The had arrived into the Ft. Lauderdale airport at a little after 1:00 am but by the time the shuttle dropped them off at the hotel it was 3:30.  The first room that they were taken to had the door standing open and the room was a mess so they were given a different room on the 4th floor that had NO air-conditioning.  They were not happy campers.  Well we had signed up for the 10:45 shuttle to the port so we all headed back up to get our stuff together.  Amanda & Heather were running a little behind and when it came down to it I thought they were going to miss the shuttle but they made it just in the nick of time.

At least they got on with all of their luggage unllike me.  When we arrived at the port and got the luggage off the bus I found that my suitcase had not been loaded so I had to get back on the shuttle and go back to the hotel. I grabbed my suitcase and got back on the shuttle with another group of people which were all dropped off before I was.  Well I met back up with Roger, Elaine, Fred, Amanda & Heather and we headed in to the cruise terminal.  We went through security and then headed to the VIP lounge where we saw Brad & Christine.  They were just getting their sail & sign cards and heading out.  I don't know what was going on in the VIP lounge but things were not working correctly with the pictures and the cards so it took way longer than the regular check in.  We met up with everyone on Lido, where we got our first taste of the Guy Burgers, which were yummy.

Then it was off to our cabin which is a great perk of being Platinum.  We can now go to our cabin right away.

Had to check out the balcony.

Before we knew it it was time for the muster drill.

Our group was pretty easy to spot with our red shirts.

After muster drill we were supposed to meet up with the rest of the group to take a group picture.

How many Hitchcock's can you fit in an elevator?  Not really sure but I can tell you we packed this one out.  Surprised that we were able to get the door closed and not overload it.

We were finally able to wrangle everyone together and get a group shot.  Then everyone was off to do whatever they wanted.

Some went to dance.

Some went to the spa.

Some went to the youth program sign ups.

Some made last minute phone calls.
