I had checked us into the hotel when we had arrived but had not gone to the room so as I waited at the curb with most of the luggage Amanda took the first load up and when she came back to help me with the rest she was not happy about where we would be staying tonight. I have to admit as we had to ring for the elevator and the elevator operator closed the doors and took us up to the second floor I too was wondering what we had gotten into. The Leamington Hotel has to be one of the oldest and least renovated hotels in Miami. Our room consisted of two bedrooms each luckily with it's own small not very efficient window mounted air conditioner and a very old bathroom. Well as soon as Roger got to the hotel from dropping off the rental car & Elaine and Fred dropped their stuff in their room we headed out.
The Bayside Marketplace was just around the corner and made for a very enjoyable evening. We walked around and I was able to find a Christmas shop were I purchased a couple of ornaments. We met up with Josh and sat and listened to some local musicians.
Eventually Cheryl, Dave & Christie showed up after Dave & Cheryl had picked Christie and Wesly up from the Ft. Lauderdale airport. They left Wesly at the hotel because he was tired after the day of flying.
Well when we had enough of the concert we headed back towards the hotel but we wanted to make a last minute wine purchase for the cruise. Imagine our surprise when that is where we met up with Charleen, Ben, Heather, Jarred and Cameron, who were also making last minute purchases. Once we finally settled on what we wanted we also grabbed Heathers suitcase from her car and walked back to our hotel. Charleen, Ben, Jarred and Cameron were staying at a LaQuinta a little further out of the downtown area. Brad & Christine were staying at the same hotel and where already there and asleep as they had had a 10 hour drive to get to Miami today.
