July 30, 2015 -Brussels, Belgium Private Tour

We woke up to a rainy overcast day.  Francis picked us up at the apartment at 9:30 and we were off to see more of Brussels.  Our first photo stop was the Atomium, which as the symbol of the 1958 Worlds Fair.

We drove by the the Garden of the Chinese Pavilion & the Japanese Tower.
We spent the morning at the Park of the Cinquantenaire with a sneak peek into the Autoworld museum.
We did a more in depth tour of the Royal Army and Military History Museum.
After parking the car (for free) right in front of the monument, we went in the entrance for the Royal Army Museum.
Made a left and went up the elevator and then a few stairs to the top of the monument.

We could even see the Atomium in the distance.

We went down the short set of stairs and around the larger stairs that we had come up and then went out on the other side of the monument.

Where Francis could show us were we are on the map of the city.

Then we headed down and went through the museum.

Different cannonballs

One of the Manneken's military costumes.
They had an impressive amount of military aircraft inside.

Francis got to get behind the camera.

This one is definitely not for me.

Now this is what I call a blow out...glad I wasn't on the plane that this came from.

This boat was made from one tree hollowed out.

Ok, I had to laugh when I saw this one.
Lots of cannons.

There is a collection of dinning items from the Russian Revolution.  Can you believe these were carried around and used on the battlefields?  Needles to say this was not what the common soldier ate from.

The Red Baron.

We were rushed out of this last part of the museum so that they could close for an hour for lunch.  They only closed the area not the whole museum.

So we walked over to the Autoworld Museum which this month was Jaguar was the car of the month.  We just peeked in took a few pictures and left.

They have a store with a lot of miniature cars for sale.

We walked around the other side to see the Cinquantenaire Museum but only walked in to the gift shop area and left.

After this Francis drove Fred back to the apartment and Roger, Elaine and I took the metro back to the city center.  We had lunch and pretty much walked around the same places as yesterday before taking the city bus back to the apartment.
