July 28th

Today we got off the ship in Naples and turned around and ran back on because it started pouring rain.  Luckily it calmed down pretty quickly and we headed back out again.

We used our free tickets that we had received as part of our hotel package when we stayed in Naples to go to the Capella de San Severano to see the Veiled Christ.  It was as if you could see his wounds as he was wrapped in the cloth in the tomb after his crucifixion.

This was a big feat for us to brave entering this town again and cross the streets of Naples.  You run across the street and when you reach the other side you are so excited that you made it and then you turn to see if everyone else is going to make it.

This is another reason we were not going to get off in Naples is all the garbage that is throughout the town but believe it or not it was cleaner than when we were here a few weeks ago and not near as hot.

We're excited that we made it back to the port area and can see the ship.

We came back on the ship and watched  Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1.  Then we headed upstairs for lunch from the buritto bar.  Then we headed down to deck 5 and the Red Frog Pub where we sat and played dominoes for a while before going back to the cabin and taking a nap and then watching another movie.

Dinner started at 8:45 since sail away wasn't until 9:00 and then we went to listen to Penny Mathisen sing.  She has a very nice voice but it wasn't for everyone because it was light opera & Broadway type music so people were leaving during her performance.

July 27th

We pretty much waisted the day away.

We went to the Red Frog Pub around 7:00 pm and had a regular rum cocktail then we got one in a fishbowl since they were $2.00 off.

I haven't gotten that much attention in a long time, since we couldn't finish it before dinner we took it with us to the dinning room and then the show and we got lots of comments about the size of the drink.

Dinner was great Mike, Pam and I got the prime rib and Roger got the flat iron steak.  The chocolate crepes weren't anything special though.

Then we headed over to the show which was The Groove Line.  The show was great the singers Monquez Pippins & Adriane Hall did a great job.  The music was great.  We headed back to the cabin after that.  This is the first time we have had a platapus as our towel animal.

July 26th

Today we were in Civitavecchia.  Most people got off the ship and headed to Rome so before we headed up stairs for breakfast around 9:00 we walked off the ship so that we could get our port picture done, went by the spa to see what the daily special was and then walked right up and got our food.  We got stuffed french toast with strawberries & whipped cream on top along with some chocolate.  It was very good.  After breakfast we did get off the ship and walked around the port area.

We went into the shopping area of the town and then walked along the beach.  We saw a crab out on the rocks.

We looked at the tide pools.

We found another huge yacht.

We went back to the ship and changed into our bathing suits and hit the slides.  They were a lot of fun.  We sat in the Serinity hot tubs and then lounged in the chairs before heading back to the cabin to take showers.  For lunch we went to Cucina del Capitano.

Roger had the linguinie with red clam sauce & I had penne pasta with alfredo sauce and broccoli.

We spent the rest of the afternoon just walking around the ship checking out the sports area, the Sky Course, the jumbo Play Station and the outdoor work out equipment.

Then we headed back to the cabin to watch a movie & rest before going to the comedy show before dinner.  We are enjoying our waiter George and the assistant Gede both are from the Philipines.  We went back to the Punchliner and watched the adult show's the comedians were Lane Montalto & Jerry Goodspeed.  I thought they were both funny and did a great job.

July 25th - Monaco

Today we arrived in Monaco.

The yachets that are in this port are abundant.

Roger & I ate breakfast in the Southernlights dinning room with a family from England and a couple from Chicago.  We then met up with Mike and Pam to head out for the day.

We walked up the hill to the palace but along the way we enjoyed all the views of the ship and the sea.

We watched the changing of the guards at 12:00.

We went to the church that Grace Kelly was buried along side Prince Raenier.

The Monaco Court House.

We then had to go down the hill and walk along the water front and then up a little bit on the other side to get up to the Monte Carlo Casino.  Along the way we passed a monument to the Monte Carlo Grand Prix.

The cars parked around the casino where very expensive.  There where Rolls Royces, Porches, Lambrogines, Mazaraties along some Smart Cars & Peugots.

Once we were done taking pictures we headed back to the ship for a late lunch from the burrito bar.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner and had fun at the Welcome aboard show.

Before heading to bed.  I wish this is what my bed looked like every night.
