I wish I could have found renfe-sncf.com to book my train tickets to Paris from Barcelona before booking my tickets. I used the renfe.com website which was much harder for me since most of the pages did not translate into English and I was not able to select my seats. It was cheaper to purchase the train tickets directly and not using RailEurope.com.
I did have a hard time with my credit card company allowing my card to go through which is good and bad. The good is that they were watching for fraudulent charges, the bad is that even though I called them several times saying that I was trying to make this purchase they were not allowing the purchase to go through. It makes me nervous that while in Europe they will not allow me to continue using my card, which is why you always need to take an extra credit card.
